Becky Lynch dropped a hint on her current WWE status on live TV by mentioning that her contract with the company will be up, soon.

This is the reason she wanted to have the pending match with Asuka, so much. This is why the title match will be happening at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event at the Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas on January 26th.

But the audience is much vested in her contract rather than the storyline between Asuka and Becky Lynch. Rumors are all over the internet speculating whether WWE has signed one of their major names from the Monday Night Raw roster to keep her safe from the rival companies. Positive updates were received in this regard but the woman in concern herself rejected those claims.

It was noted in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Becky Lynch may have signed a new WWE contract in 2019, worth $1 million per year.

Most of the new WWE contracts are being offered for 5 years, as of now. But The Man herself mentioned on Twitter that these reports are not true saying that her contract will be up soon.

“Report not true. Haven’t signed anything new in years. Deal coming up soon,” Becky Lynch stated through her post.

She added saying, “It’s amazing what they’ll give you when you remind them your contract is coming up soon. More to say on Raw.” This was a direct reference to the upcoming match that she was begging to happen against one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Asuka at Royal Rumble.

It was in early 2019 when reports broke out that WWE has already secured the WrestleMania 35 main-eventer for five years to come. If that is true then WWE has just been having fun by using the deal context for this Women’s Championship match.

This will make the storyline interesting as well as showcase the desperation of Becky Lynch to secure the due singles victory against Asuka.
