Can Roger Federer claim another grand slam title? Well, this has been the question for the past few years. It has been three years since the 17 time grand slam champion last won a slam. After winning the Wimbledon in 2012 it looked like that the Swiss have a lot left in him to win another slam. But, it wasn’t the case as 2013 has been one of the worst years in Roger Federer’s career. 2014 was a decent year compared to 2013, reaching the Wimbledon final but couldn’t emerge victorious to his liking.

Questions were raised that is it the end of the Swiss Maestro? But the form of Roger Federer has been sublime in 2015 and he is ranked second in the world behind Djokovic. The 34 year old was one of the three persons to beat the world no 1 Novak Djokovic this year. However, that victory came in an ATP event. In grand slams his performance this year has been below par by his standards losing in the third round at the Australian Open and to Wawrinka at the French Open.

After all those setbacks Roger Federer was all geared up for his most successful grand slam Wimbledon. Before the start of Wimbledon Roger Federer stated that That is the tournament where I need to play my best. In fact, to his liking he played his best at the Wimbledon 2015 and was in blistering form throughout the form with hardly giving any chance to the opponents for breaking his serve. Everything was falling in place for the Swiss until he met the world no 1 Novak Djokovic in the finals who is at the peak of his career and took four sets to reign as the Wimbledon champion.

So, twice in 2014 and 2015 the biggest hurdle for the Swiss to win a grand slam has been Novak Djokovic and he has failed on both the occasions. However, Roger quoted that I’m not going to accept losing and say its normal, I’m hungry for more which clearly states how much he needs that 18th grand slam title.

At the moment things for Roger Federer to win grand slams is very brink as he lost the x-factor he used to have in his prime and with the likes of Novak Djokovic, who is reaching the final of almost every grand slam it seems to be the hardest task for the Swiss or for any other player. Roger Federer, at present is good enough to win ATP tournaments but in grand slams it is a concern.

However, one cannot completely write off the 17 time grand slam champion as he can still give it a go at the Wimbledon next year. In the other three slams of the year things doesn’t look bright for the Swiss.
