India vs Sri Lanka, 1st T20I, Cuttack
India defeated Sri Lanka by 93 runs in the first T20I and took a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 series at the Barabati stadium in Cuttack. Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to field first but couldn’t use the conditions at all as India scored 180/3 in the allotted 20 overs. Rahul made complete use of the given opportunity scoring 61 runs off 48 deliveries while opening the innings. Shreyas Iyer and Rohit Sharma scored 24 and 17 respectively. MS Dhoni was promoted in the batting line up and scored 39 off 22 balls. Angelo Matthews, Thisara Perera and Nuwan Pradeep took a wicket a piece. Indian spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav rattled the Sri Lankan batting line-up as Chahal picked up four wickets and Kuldeep Yadav picked up two wickets. Unadkat picked up a wicket while Hardik Pandya picked up three wickets. Upul Tharanga was the top scorer with 23 runs. Sri Lanka was dismissed on 87 runs. Chahal was adjudged the man of the match.

Birmingham City has been officially announced as the hosts for the 2022 Commonwealth Games. This will be the first time the Games will return to England after the 2002 edition when Manchester hosted the event.
