Fourth Ashes Test, Boxing Day Test, Melbourne

England took the edge at stumps on day two of the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Australia began day two on 244/3 but the English bowler came back hard in the first session of day two, and the Australians lost their last seven wickets for a mere 83 runs as James Anderson and Stuart Broad picked up three and four wickets respectively. Tom Curran picked up his first Test wicket and was the prized scalp of Australian captain Steven Smith. Alastair Cook came back to form as he scored his 32nd Test century and his fifth against Australia. Joe Root was also unbeaten on 49 as England were 192/2 at stumps and trailed Australia by 132 runs.
