FIRST ASHES TEST, GABBA, BRISBANE

Australia took a 1-0 lead as they defeated England by ten wickets in the first Test at Gabba in Brisbane early on day five of the Test. David Warner and Cameron Bancroft remained unbeaten while chasing a target of 170 in the second innings. Bancroft scored his maiden half-century in his Debut Test match whereas Warner continued his good form at home as he remained not out on 87. The two teams will now go to Adelaide where the second match of the series will be played from 2nd August. This will also be the first Day/Night Ashes Test match.
India Vs SRI LANKA 2017, SECOND TEST, NAGPUR

India defeated Sri Lanka by an innings and 239 runs in the second Test at the NCA stadium in Nagpur courtesy an all-round performance by the Indian team. Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored his 5th double century in the first innings. Sri Lanka was bowled out for a mere 166 in the second innings, and the Test match was over just after the lunch break on day four. India equalled their biggest win margin in Test matches, having defeated Bangladesh by the same margin in 2007. Virat Kohli was adjudged the Man of the Match for his brilliant double century.
ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE-WEEK 13
Burnley Vs Arsenal

Arsenal pulled off a late winner to get past Burnley and win the match 1-0 in the 92nd minute of the match. Arsenal earned an injury-time penalty which was comfortably converted by Alexis Sanchez to get Arsenal to the fourth spot in the league table.
Huddersfield Vs Manchester City
Huddersfield took an early lead against the league leaders through an own goal by Otamendi but could not hold on to the lead as City came back and won the match 2-0. Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling were the goal scorer for the touring team. Manchester City is still eight points clear of second-placed Manchester United.
Southampton Vs Everton
Everton was handed another loss as they lost 4-1 to Southampton. Everton is now placed 16th in the league table with 12 points.
FORMULA 1
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Valtteri Bottas won the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as Mercedes finished first and second with World Champion Lewis Hamilton finishing second in the race. Mercedes also won the constructor’s championship finishing 146 points ahead of second-placed Ferrari. Force India finished fourth in the standings.
