John Hastings Calls It Quit
Australian fast bowler John Hasting has decided to retire from international as well as first class cricket which means that he will not play for Victoria as well. However, he’ll continue to play for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League. The decision came on the back of a long string of injuries. The final nail in the coffin was when he injured his back just before the start of the JLT Cup.
Pakistan Announce Their Squad for the ODI Series
Pakistan has dropped Azhar Ali along with Wahab Riaz from the ODI squad to play against Sri Lanka. Uncapped Imam-Ul-Haq has been picked by the selection committee. Squad-:

Pragyan Ojha Released By Bengal
Pragyan Ojha has been given the No-Objection Certificate by the Cricket Association of Bengal after a long lasting conflict between the two. As a result, Ojha will now play for his home state of Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy. Ojha played for the Hyderabad Ranji team from 2005 till 2015.
Tamim Iqbal Picked for the One Day Series

The second Test between South Africa and Bangladesh began earlier in the day and Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first. Aiden Markram and Dean Elgar gave a solid start to the team again as South Africa was 126-0 at lunch.
Pakistan vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Dubai
The Day-Night Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka also started in Dubai at the Dubai International Stadium. Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first in the Test match. Lahiru Gamage makes his debut in this match replacing Lakshan Sandakan who went wicketless in the first Test. Lahiru Thirimanne was also dropped due to back injury. He was replaced by Sadeera Samarawickrama.

The FIFA Under-17 World will kick start on the 6th of October as India face the USA in their first in New Delhi at 8:00 PM IST. Colombia face Ghana, New Zealand face Turkey and Paraguay will face Mali.
FIFA World Cup 2019 Qualifiers- CONMEBOL
Argentina’s road to Russia faced another bump as they drew their match against Peru which put their qualification place in doubt. A World Cup without Lionel Messi is very well on the cards. The match ended in 0-0 draw. Argentina will now have to win their next match against Ecuador to qualify for the World Cup in 2019.
FIFA World Cup 2019 Qualifiers- UEFA
England won their match against Slovenia 1-0 to book a spot in the World Cup. Harry Kane scored for England. England qualifies for the World Cup with one qualifying match to go. Germany won their match to qualify for the WC 3-1 against Northern Ireland. Spain will face Albania in their qualifying match on Saturday.
Japan Open 2017
Rafael Nadal reached the semi-final of the 2017 Japan Open as he defeated John Isner 6-4, 7-6 in the Q/F stage of the tournament. Nick Kyrgios also advanced to the semi-final stage.
