ICC Counting on Test Championship?
The world cricket governing body International Cricket Council (ICC) is hinging on to approve the long-awaited World Test Championship which drew flak earlier. In a bid to boost the longer version of the game, the breakthrough could take place at the ICC’s meeting in New Zealand scheduled for October 13 in Auckland.
The reports suggested the Board is looking forward to coming up with nine-Test country championship which could eventually run through two-year cycle kicking off from 2019 subject to the approval.
If given a green signal, the competition would culminate with two-top teams wrestling against each other at iconic Lord’s in England.
Mushfiqur Rahim feels BCB would have the last word while not agreeing with his critics:
Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim after being humiliated by South Africa in the recently concluded two-match series decided he won’t step down as a skipper on the personal level, as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has every right to do so while revealing he is also bound to make ‘mistake’ being a human.

The left-arm spinner Brad Hogg has re-signed a contract with KFC Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Melbourne Renegades for the second time.
The 46-year-old slow-bowling all-rounder Hogg is excited to join the likes of Aaron Finch for the seventh edition of BBL after bagging eight wickets in the sixth season for the Melbourne-based outfit.
