Here’s the daily round-up of Sportzwiki from the football to cricket on 20th November, 2017, as the news has grabbed the headlines in the world of sports featuring India Vs Sri Lanka, English Premier League and India Super League followed by ATP World Tour trophy result and Italian Serie A fixture.

As we were into the exciting phase of the session, Indian bowlers added life to the dull Test which made it further fascinating game after hosts seamers picked wickets at regular intervals.

After a plenty of drama, the riveting Test fixture ended on a draw when on-field umpires declared light is not enough for the play.

In 26.3 overs, Sri Lanka was 75 for seven. The new-ball duo in the form of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami shared six wickets each.

The pick of the bowlers was Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who claimed four wickets after conceding just eight off 11 overs and was eventually declared Man of the Match.

Speedster Umesh Yadav claimed the wicket of Angelo Mathews.

Earlier, India declared on 352 for eight after Virat Kohli brought up his 18th Test hundred in the 61st Test match and first at Eden Gardens Kolkata, in the longer version of the game.

Cheteshwar Pujara in the list of rare feat:

The 29-year-old Saurashtra-born Chesteshwar Pujara becomes the third overall player from India who batted all five days in the Test cricket when he batted on day five of the first Test at Eden Gardens in Kolkata against Dinesh Chandimal-led Sri Lanka.

The first Indian was Motganhalli Laxminarsu (ML) Jaisimha who achieved the feat on 23 January in 1960.

The right-handed batsman Pujara become an overall ninth player to achieve the rare after South African Alviro Petersen held the record in 2012 against New Zealand in Wellington.

Interestingly, all three Indian batsmen have set a record at the same venue which further saw Pujara scoring 52 in the first innings and 22 in the second innings respectively.

English Premier League:

In the ongoing English Premier League (EPL) season, Watford sealed a convincing victory by 2-0 against West Ham in London in the solitary league game on Sunday.

For Watford, Will Hughes scored an early goal after getting a loose ball to guide it into the net in the eleventh minute of the first-half against rivals West Ham.

West Ham tried to counterattack, but it was not enough, as Richarlison netted in the 64th minute.

With this win, Watford is now positioned at the eighth spot on the points table, as West Ham is languishing at the bottom-half.

Indian Super League

In the first match of the Indian Super League on November 19, Goa routed Chennaiyin FC by 3-2 in the enticing clash at Jawarhalal Nehru Stadium.

Following the 55 percent possession, Goa made it count by opening their account in the first-half which further saw the side talking the lead of 3-0.

For Goa, Ferran Corominas scored a goal in 25th-minute, before Manuel Lanzarote Burno returned with another goal in the 29th-minute.

Mandar Roa Desai piled up the pressure over Chennaiyin FC in 38th-minute.

In response, Chennaiyin FC players received three yellow cards, as Inigo Calderon scored a goal in 70th-minute, as Raphael Augusto secure a goal on a penalty stroke in 84th-minute of the play.

In another football fixture of the ISL at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore, Bengaluru FC won the match by 2-0 scoreline.

As Mumbai City struggled to take the possession of the ball, Edu Garcia scored the first goal in the second-half (67) for Bengaluru which further saw ace footballer Sunil Chhetri extended the lead in the added time when he netted a goal in the 93rd-minute which subsequently saw the blowing of a whistle.

ATP Tennis Grand Finale Result:

Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov has won the maiden

final of the ATP World Tour by 7-6, 4-6 and 6-3 at the Centre Court in London after overcoming his opponent and promising Tennis player David Goffin.

Interestingly, the splendid victory pushed the 26-year-old Dimitrov to become World Number three in the world Tennis ratings.

However, after losing on the first round, Goffin came back to level in the second set with a 6-4 lead following the brilliant display on athleticism in the previous games which saw him beating two veterans on the contemporary Tennis in the form of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Italian Football Result:

In the Italian football fixture, Sampdoria thrashed Juventus by 3-2 in the Italian Serie A competition.

Until the half-time, both teams were having the scoreline of 0-0, as Duvan Zapata scored a goal for Sampdoria in 52nd-minute which further saw Lucas Torreira extended the lead to 2-0 in the space of 21 minutes.

While making things miserable for Juventus, Sampdoria saw the lead 3-0 in the 79th minute when Gian Marco Ferrari completed a goal.

In response, Juventus scored two goals in the injury time when Gonzalo Higuain opened the tally for Juventus in 91st-minute on the penalty kick, as Paulo Dybala scored another goal in the 94th minute before the referee blew a final whistle.
