Not a good day for the Indian team in the Champions Trophy, but a good day in hockey indeed.

India and Pakistan have enjoyed contrast results and performances so far in the Hockey World League 2017 in England. On one hand, India has won two in their two matches – beating Scotland 4-1 and Canada 3-0. Pakistan has had opposite results with two straight defeats. That trend continued on Sunday, as India thrashed Pakistan 7-1 in an all-round show. Harmanpreet, Akashdeep and Talwinder scored two goals each while Pardeep Mor chipped in with one.

Pakistan cricket team came into the match seeded last and lost their very first match with a big margin against the same opponent. However, since that game, everything went their way and they produced some amazing performances which have landed them in a glorious position. Cricket is a game of uncertainties and this tournament just proved it and Pakistan surely deserves every bit of it.

Sehwag took to Twitter to congratulate the Indian Hockey team win. He wrote

“Congrats on a comprehensive 7-1 victory over Pakistan. Well deserved and a great result for Indian hockey
