Aggressive middle-order batsman Kedar Jadhav during his press conference stated that he is content with his performance in the opening game of the 3-match series at his home ground Pune and is eager to continue his performance in coming matches for the national side.
The 31-year-old middle-order batsman contributed 102 in a 200-run partnership with skipper Virat Kohli after teetering at 64 for four while chasing the target of 351.
“If you’re batting with Virat Kohli, he tends to make things easy for you during the innings and that eventually help me,” Jadhav said on Kohli.
Jadhav, also become the sixth Indian player to score the fastest century in 65 balls. He scored his career-best of 120 on 76 balls after making One-day International debut in 2014 against Sri Lanka.
“I always dominate when I come to bat. The wicket [MCA Pune] was pretty good to bat on. I am happy with my performance at the home ground,” Jadhav added.
Jadhav gave no chance to English bowlers to settle on as he pierced the gaps to notch his second century in his ODI career.
“When you play for the country there is always a pressure in every game. It is up to the individual how he goes on,” he said.
The promising right-handed batsman has performed well in First Class cricket for his state side Maharashtra since he appeared on the scene in 2007-08.
Jadhav was also named Man of the Match for his magnificent contribution with the bat.
“I always play every game to consider it as my last game and that helps me to build up the innings,” Jadhav revealed.
In 2010, on his Indian Premier League debut, Jadhav flayed Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers to score a 29-ball half-century.
“I always take every pressure and every hurdle as an opportunity to succeed and to get closer to my aim. I was working hard in the practice sessions. I am happy to succeed in the last game. I’ve answered the challenged with positive intent,” Jadhav added.
Jadhav also said he has kept his phone on silent when congratulatory messages poured in.
“My family and friends helped me. I am trying to stay in present. To be honest, I wanted to stay on the ground and always try to stay in present and that’s what I always look to do,” Jadhav said.
Brave on the field, Jadhav has been solid in the middle to see his team in a comfortable position as he also suffered from the cramps when he was nearing his triple figure mark.
“Two years before I have played for India A with a fractured hand and I was in a lot of pain. But when I returned home it was still paining after 20 days I came to know it was a fracture,” Jadhav concluded when asked what made you believe in you.
