Was 2015 Wimbledon the last one for Roger Federer? No says the Swiss Maestro. After losing to the Serbian Novak Djokovic in four sets, many speculation arised that this might be the last Wimbledon for the 7 time Wimbledon champion. However, the Swiss denied it and said he will make his presence next year too.
Roger Federer hasn’t won a grand slam ever since his Wimbledon triumph in 2012. Lots of questions arised that is it time for the Swiss to call it a day. But he managed to prove the doubters wrong by reaching the Finals of Wimbledon in 2014 and recently in 2015. On both the occasions it was the Serbian Novak Djokovic who was the hurdle he had to manage and failed on both the occasions.
However, the chances for the Swiss is very grim to win grand slams in other court events where as in Grass which is his favourite surface he can give it a shot in the coming years. The form the Swiss has been in 2015 has been great that he had the best chance to capture the Wimbledon crown, but to add to his agony it was Novak Djokovic who is in the peak of his career and couldn’t stand a chance against the Serbian.
This is what the Swiss has to say after his Wimbledon Defeat:
“Wimbledon was amazing. Rough end but had blast for 13.5 days! Thanks for all the support as always. See you next year! I’ll be there“
