Suryakumar Yadav’s stunning rise in T20I has continued as he has reached newer heights in the latest ICC T20I Rankings for batsmen, released on Wednesday (February 1).

Arguably the best T20I batsman in the world at the moment, Suryakumar has reached a new career-high rating. He reached the rating of 910 point after performing well in the first match of the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand.

In the first match, he scored 47 although India ended up losing the game. In the second match, Suryakumar showed that he is not just all about hitting the ball all around the park as he showed remarkable patience and composure to guide India to a hard-fought win on a tough pitch.

The right-handed batsman scored an unbeaten 26 as India chased down 100 runs with just one ball remaining. Thanks to his consistent displays in the shortest format of the game, he has maintained a healthy lead at the top of the ICC T20I Rankings for T20I batsmen.

He, however, dropped back to a total of 908 rating points as a result after his knock in the second T20I. The India batting star will have an opportunity to continue moving upwards in the ICC T20I Rankings when India and New Zealand lock horns in the third and final match of the series on Wednesday.

Suryakumar Yadav eyes highest-ever rating in ICC T20I rankings:

Suryakumar Yadav is now really close to achieve the highest-ever rating of all time in ICC T20I Rankings for batsmen. The record is currently held by England batsman Dawid Malan. Malan achieved a rating of 915 points in Cape Town back in 2020

As of now, Suryakumar holds the second highest rating of all time for T20I batters following his recent displays. A few days ago, he was also named the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year.

Among other players who have gained in the latest ICC T20I Rankings, New Zealand opener Finn Allan has jumped eight places to 19th while teammate Daryl Mitchell has moved up nine spots to 29th overall.

He has jumped up two places to ninth overall on the latest list for T20I bowlers and is also rewarded with a five-spot rise to 23rd on the updated rankings for all-rounders.
