Iker Casillas And Marc Bartra Involved In Hilarious Social Media Battle 1

The international break is finally upon us and forgotten acquaintances will be back chirping again as the national teams see a reunion of sorts of the star players in their squad.

With players plying their trade in different leagues in different countries, the international break gives them a chance to meet their national teammates which allow them to relive some of their finest memories as budding stars.

So it does not come as a surprise that a number of star players are quick to make fun of their national teammates who they get to see only in such international break.

Former Real Madrid shot-stopper Iker Casillas came up with one such troll on social media site Instagram that became popular instantly.

The Spanish goalkeeper is among the best to have ever played the game and is a senior in the national set-up.

So he took the opportunity to pull the leg of one Barcelona defender Marc Bartra on his own Instagram page.

The Barcelona defender’s most memorable moment for the Spanish side came in the Cope del Rey final in 2014 when he was beaten by Welsh international Gareth Bale who went on to score the winner.

Both players were in a foot race with Bartra coming second best and the Real Madrid man helped his side to the trophy that season.

The difference in pace between both players was quite evident and Bartra has ever since becoming a yardstick for players struggling with pace, with this moment turning into an iconic one.

And Casillas, who has 725 appearances for Real Madrid, is a legend at the Bernabeu and though he is currently playing for FC Proto in Portugal, he showed that he is still a Madrista by trolling Bartra, reminding of this nightmare of a moment.

Posting in the comments, Casillas asked: “Marc, Have you seen him? Behind you, It’s (Gareth) Bale!

Did you catch Bale yet?”

It is clear that both players share a history but Bartra was not too embarrassed and came up with this reply which read, “Iker Casillas pal, have you caught it yet or not?”

The former Barcelona man is currently at the Signal Iduna Park in Germany but his moment with Gareth Bale will never be forgotten in Spain.
