Australia all-rounder Cameron Green said that he is 100% ready to play in the third Test of the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series which will be played in Indore’s Holkar Stadium from March 1 onwards.

Green was ruled out of the first two Tests, which Australia lost in Nagpur and Delhi after he had suffered a broken finger during the Sydney Test against South Africa and was recovering from the same. However, now Green has said that he’s 100% ready to go.

“Yeah, I’m going really, really well. I was so, so close last game but I think probably having the extra week has helped a lot. So, I’m 100 per cent ready to go,” Green told reporters and was quoted as saying by SEN.com.au.

When asked whether it was him who made the call, Green says it was a decision shared by both himself and Australian medicos.

“We were all on exactly the same page. There were just a few instances in the nets when I’d go to sweep, and it’d jar the end of my bat. We just thought that we could sacrifice a game with the year ahead that we’ve got. It was probably the right call, and we were all on the same page,” Green added.

Green’s inclusion in the team will be good news for the management as they would have a better-balanced bowling attack, in case they choose to play three spinners in the XI once again in Indore.

Australia are trailing the four-match Test series 0-2 and have already lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The Australia skipper explained that he returned home to be with his mother who “is ill and in palliative care”. He, however, could make it in time for the fourth Test, scheduled to be played in Ahmedabad.
