Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s excellent innings in the ongoing first Test against Australia came to an end swiftly after the tea break, as he had his off-stump uprooted by a brilliant delivery by his opposition number Pat Cummins.
The ongoing first Test which is being played at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur has seen some amazing bowling and some very good batting by both sides.
Australia made 177 after Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bat first. Marnus Labuschagne made 49, Steve Smith scored 37, and Alex Carey contributed 36 despite losing both openers David Warner and Usman Khawaja for one run each to India pacers Mohammad Shami and Mohammed Siraj early.

Ravindra Jadeja picked 5/47 on his comeback to international cricket and Ravichandran Ashwin took three and also completed 450 scalps in Tests.
Pat Cummins Ends Rohit Sharma’s Excellent Knock Just As He Looked Threatening
In reply, it was Rohit Sharma who held the ground and played some terrific shots in his amazing knock. KL Rahul fell on day one for 20 runs, while Ravi Ashwin, the nightwatchman fell for 23 runs on day two just after lunch.
Todd Murphy continued to wreak havoc as he took big wickets of Cheteshwar Pujara for 7 and then the huge scalp of Virat Kohli for 12 runs, brilliantly caught down the leg side by Alex Carey.

Amidst the rainfall of wickets, Rohit Sharma continued his great knock and reached an amazing century which he celebrated quietly. It was his 9th Test century, first against Australia and he became the first Indian to score centuries in all three international formats as captain and fourth overall.
However, as soon as he looked dangerous by playing some shots, the tea break happened. And right after the break, when the play resumed, Pat Cummins showed his caliber with the ball as he bowled a full-length ball to Rohit, whose feet got stuck in the crease and the ball moved slightly away and sent the off-stump cartwheeling.

Rohit was out for 120 runs with 15 fours and 2 sixes to his name.
