The Indian men’s hockey team continued their good form by beating Poland 3-0 in World Hockey league semi finals of their second group match played at Antwerp, Belgium. It was a commanding performance by the Indian team who dominated the Poland team and played some excellent hockey.

In the first quarter India were off to a great start getting a penalty corner in 6th minute but was well saved by Polish goalkeeper. The Poland team did make a good effort but were not able to put pressure on the Indian defense. At the end of 1st quarter it was 0-0.

In the second quarter India started well getting a penalty corner early but were not able to convert the chance. Yuvraj Walmki scored the field goal in the 7th minute to give India 10 lead. Poland got first penalty corner but was well saved by Sreejesh. At the end of 2nd quarter it was 1-0.

In the third quarter India dominated the possession. In the 8th minute India earned penalty corner but did not convert the penalty corner into goal. In the 10th minute Poland tried a shot on the goal but was well saved by Sreejesh. In the 12th minute Sardar Singh scored the field goal giving India a 2-0 lead. At the end of 3rd quarter it was 2-0 for India.

In the 4th quarter India started off to a great getting the 4th penalty corner in the 2nd minute but were not able to convert the chance into goal. In the 8th minute Devandra Walkmi scored a field goal to give India 3-0 lead. The Indian team kept the possession as Poland tried to get a goal. At the end of the match India won the match 3-0.

India are top of the group with six points and will Pakistan in the next match on 26th June.
