It is disappointing for Indian Golf lovers as our Ace Golfer Anirban Lahiri who was second until the end of third round, finished joint sixth on the last day. Anirban Lahiri fought back well from an early stumble in the final round of the Hotel Fitness Championships and ended tied-6th in the first of the four-event Web.com Final series Challenge tournament on Monday the 14th September 2015.
“It was probably a case of trying too hard as Lahiri, played his first 12 holes Sunday in 2 over before making three late birdies. But Indian had to be contented and happy with his fight back and progress in the Finals 25. He went out there and tried to push from the get-go that he really didn’t need to do. It hit him like a bolt of lightning on the 12th green when he missed his putt for birdie. He just needed to enjoy himself a little bit more. Willing himself to enjoy and put less pressure on himself, he found three birdies on last six holes on 13th, 15th and finally the 18th, where he had double-bogeyed earlier in the week.
“The last stretch was fine and the way he fought back and the birdie on 18th was encouraging. He now has to look forward to next week, as he has committed to playing the first three events on the Finals series and try and make enough money to earn the PGA Tour card for 2016.
