Sunrisers Hyderabad had put on a solid batting display against Delhi Daredevils as they posted a massive 191 runs at the end of their innings after winning the toss and electing to bat first.

The defending champions were set on the back foot early as Morris managed to dismiss David Warner in only the second over. However, New Zealand’s Kane Williamson, who was playing his first game of the season has taken the charge to Daredevils bowling along with Shikhar Dhawan as the duo managed to put up a 136 run partnership.

But some great bowling by Morris at the end has ensured that Hyderabad could not reach 200 as the South African finished at 4/26.

The Delhi batsmen could not put up a show as SRH bowlers were good enough to restrict the Delhi batsmen as Sanju Samson and Karun Nair got the starts but could not go on and make big to ensure that their team got past the total.

Speaking after the game, Delhi captain Zaheer Khan has expressed his delight on the way the team is shaping up for the rest of the tournament and have also insisted that they gave few extra runs.

“Another great game of cricket. Unfortunate not to finish on the right side but am happy with the way the team is shaping up.

“I thought 180 was ideal but the last over I bowled is going to hurt me. Bhuvi has been fantastic and the lengths he has been bowling have been really good.

On Karun Nair’s run-out after the timeout which proved to be the turning point of the game, he said:

“Such things happen in the heat of the situation. We need to get on a winning roll in the tournament. Momentum is very important in situations like these and I hope we have one final roll left in us.”
