Despite scoring more than 50 goals in five consecutive seasons for Real Madrid, former player Raul believes it will be hard for Cristiano Ronaldo to score 40 goals in Italy.
The former Real Madrid legend believes life will be difficult for Ronaldo in Italy.
Playing three matches and hitting 23 shots, Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to find the net in Seria A. And Raul, who spent four years with the forward at Real Madrid said the Italian league is more tactical and defensive where Ronaldo will find difficult to score goals regularly. Raul told AS,
“It’s true that in Italy, football is more tactical and defensive, as well as being very physical, so you have to know how to play. Cristiano’s a great player with tremendous quality, but in Italy, it’ll be harder for him to score 40 goals. Also, I hope he doesn’t because it would be good for Juventus but bad for Napoli.”

However, despite getting no goals in the first three matches, Raul believes the goals will come soon as slow starts are nothing new for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
“He also started slowly with Madrid last season. He didn’t score goals at the start of the campaign, yet he finished up again with some mindboggling numbers. If Cristiano has spent his entire career scoring bags of goals every season, it’s not by chance.”
Things have not gone too right for Ronaldo after joining Juventus. With failing to score goals, the Portuguese star also was unable to win the UEFA Best player of the year this time despite scoring 15 goals. His former team-mate, Luka Modric was awarded the winner after a terrific season with both Real Madrid and Croatia.
Cristiano Ronaldo will get a chance again to open his account in Seria A when Juventus face Sassuolo on Sunday.
