Australia Test captain Pat Cummins stated that it’s fair for Cricket Australia to evaluate Justin Langer’s performance and he refused to make any comment on his stance regarding his contract extension.
Australia coach Justin Langer’s contract will be expired in June this year as there are speculations about whether his contract will be extended or not. Australia recently won the Ashes with a whopping margin of 4-0 as Cummins himself made his captaincy debut in the series.

Justin Langer’s contract will expire in June
“It lies in Cricket Australia’s hands. JL has been doing a fantastic job. He has been there for four years, his contract is obviously up soon. So they’re just going through an evaluation process at the moment which I think is fair and the right thing to do.” Cummins spoke to reporters on Thursday.
“We all get evaluated all the time as cricketers, it’s part of a high-performance environment,” he added further.

It has been understood that CA’s high-performance manager Ben Oliver and CEO Nick Hockley met Justin Langer last week as now the board will hold a meeting to evaluate his roadmap ahead.
Quite a few former Australian players are quite vocal about the uncertainty over Langer’s contract as they believe the 51-year old is the right man to take Australian cricket forward however Cummins, like many of his teammates, refused to make any comment on his assessment.
“It’s part of speculation which I don’t think is healthy. I don’t think it helps anyone. That is Cricket Australia’s job, it’s not my job. I have really liked my time working with JL. We have had an evaluation process, I have been part of that. A lot of other players and staff have been part of that. I’ve got huge respect for JL, I really like working with him.” Cummins said.
Australia made giant progress under the coaching of Justin Langer as they retained the Ashes in England for the first time in 18 years when they drew the series by 2-2 in 2019. Last year Australia also won their maiden T20 World Cup title, beating New Zealand in the final.
