Ajay Jayaram after his great performance in the Korean Open Super Series where he reached the finals of the tournament has climbed to seven places to be ranked 25th in the latest ranking issued by the Badminton World Federation issued earlier today.

Jayaram runner-up finish at USD 600,000 Korean Open Super Series has helped him reentered into the top 25. In the final of Korean Open Super Series, he lost to defending champion and World number 1 Chen Long. Jayaram had reached the semi-finals of Russian Open, Swiss Open and Malaysia Masters all Grand Prix level tournaments this year.  

Jayaram had a great run in the tournament defeating 2 higher seeds player. While K Srikanth and P Kashyap have managed to retain their fifth and eighth positions respectively in men’s singles rankings. HS Prannoy has dropped a spot to be 16th in the rankings. In women’s singles, Saina Nehwal is still leading the chart while PV Sindhu remains at number 13. Women’s doubles pair of Jwala Gutta/Ashwini Ponnappa managed to retain their 11th spot while doubles pair of Manu Attri/ Sumeeth Reddy remains static at 19.

However, there are no mixed doubles players for India in the top 25. All the Indian shuttlers will be looking to do well in the upcoming events and also qualify for Rio Olympics.
