Jeff Hardy has just returned on SmackDown to serve the remaining part of his WWE contract which can be considered the final run of his illustrious career. Quite expectedly, he does want to finish it on a high note by having some memorable matches. One of them could be a cinematic match against the Eater of the World, Bray Wyatt.
Jeff Hardy appeared on a recent episode of WWE’s After The Bell podcast hosted by WWE Raw commentator Corey Graves. The Charismatic Enigma spoke to him on different topics about returning to SmackDown. He then revealed his desire to work in a ‘cinematic’ match against the chosen opponent, “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt.
“I just want to have one more good run man and maybe become the World Champion, the Universal Champion” Jeff Hardy began. “I would love to do something with The Fiend Bray Wyatt, I got some crazy cool ideas.”

Being a resident demonic character in the WWE, Wyatt has been featured in a few such matches throughout his WWE career against the likes of Matt Hardy, John Cena, and Randy Orton in the past.
Now, it should be noted that Matt and Jeff Hardy can be considered as the innovators of such kind of matches during their run in Impact Wrestling back in 2016-17. So no wonder, he’d like to feature in another installment of such gimmicked match.
“I was like ‘what if there was something like The Twilight Zone?’ Because back when we did the Hardy Show that we had this thing called the WhyLight Zone. So now what if we, I don’t know…like Wyatt beat me and took me under the ring? Then all of a sudden I’m in the Funhouse by a black and white TV and it’s like the Twilight Zone?”
Revealed: Details Of WWE Signing The Undertaker In A Lifetime Contract
With the recent Coronavirus pandemic situation ongoing, WWE is trying to bring in more creative things when it comes to filming matches or segments as they try to give fans something fresh. WrestleMania 36 hosted two of those matches namely the Boneyard match (The Undertaker and AJ Styles) and the Firefly Fun House match (John Cena and Bray Wyatt).
It’s fair to say that the ‘Deletion’ matches that Matt and Jeff Hardy blueprinted back in their Impact days have had a huge influence on these types of bouts. They showed the path which WWE is taking forward with more innovative ideas. WWE is able to add new dimensions to these with their world-class production style to these kinds of cinematic bouts. So no wonder Jeff Hardy wants to leave his mark in this genre within the WWE.
