The advent of the novel coronavirus pandemic has brought the world to a standstill. Live cricket matches are equally effected. Most of the marquee series’ slated to take place in this period of time are either re-scheduled or called-off. In the beginning, to withstand the coronavirus pandemic, matches were played behind closed doors.
But as the outbreak of the fatal virus, continued to grow, the concept of closed door matches were also brought to an halt as a part of the precautionary measure for the players.

Australia hosted New Zealand in a closed door match. But the remainder of the matches were called off due to the unavoidable circumstances.
For the love of the game, there’s value in playing behind closed doors: Justin Langer

Australia head coach Justin Langer sighted the example of playing under age cricket. He said, it was a time, when most of the players played the game for the love of it. But playing under closed doors, will keep the cricketers humble, and they will never take it for granted that how lucky they are to play in front of a huge crowd.
“When you started off playing cricket, when you were under age, there’s no crowds there,” he told BBC Radio.
“You played it because you loved playing the game, you loved playing with your mates and you loved playing the game.
“For the love of the game, and for still being able to entertain people through TV sets or radio, then there’s value in (playing behind closed doors).
“Yes it’s different, but we’ll never, ever, ever take for granted how lucky we are ever again.”
Meanwhile, in an rather ambitious effort England captain Eoin Morgan said, he is ready to field two teams at the same time, if need be for a compressed international season in the coming time.
