The former India cricketers, Kapil Dev and Murali Karthik recently displayed their skills at the Classic Golf and Country Club, Gurugram.
Kapil speaks on length about golf
Both of them are avid golfers who took to golfing post their cricketing career. They participated in the Golfing Nation Championship 2018 last week and were enthusiastically cheered by the crowd present there.
Sportzwiki had an exclusive interaction with Kapil Dev who spoke about his love for golf.
Kapil mentioned how after retiring from professional cricket, he fell in love with the vast greenery at the golf courses and eventually with golf.
When asked if there are any similarities between golf and cricket, Kapil Dev nodded. He mentioned that like cricket; golf is also a lot about the hand-eye coordination.
“It is a new culture more than anything else. The good part now is that the corporate world is ready to play the game and as long as corporates play and spend money, the game will grow”.
Kapil Dev said everything could not be expected from the government alone and corporates need to pump in the moolah.

There are about 1 lakh golfers in India and a very few events happening on golf in India. For the game to grow in India, more people should come forward.
In India, Golf is seen more as a recreational or a rich man’s sport which is not exactly the case. There are around 27 golf courses in Delhi NCR alone, but very few are aware of the same. Golfing nation has tied up with various schools in Delhi-NCR.
Cricketers like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev are some of the top cricketers supporting this beautiful game.
