Rusev was released by the WWE on Wednesday night which made him a part of the largest cut-down in the history of the company. His real-life wife Lana who was portraying the character of his rival, in recent times is trying to keep their storyline going.
She is continuing to let the angle proceed via social media sharing through a post where it was pointed out how cheap a man Rusev is, in kayfabe world.

Lana took to Twitter yesterday to post a video of Rusev yelling at her during a RAW segment on May 18, 2015. He could be found blaming her for his loss to John Cena at the Payback pay-per-view over the United States Championship.
He was going on about how he didn’t need her as a manager. Lana captioned the video in a way to remind everyone how Rusev really is. (based on the storylines)

The Ravishing Russian is still paired up with Bobby Lashley in the angle that began on Raw back in October. Lana started having adulterous affairs with the Dominator seeking split from her real-life husband, Rusev.

She also filed for a divorce and later got married to Lashley on TV, in a strange manner. Apparently, the plan was to bring Rusev and Lana together, at one point. But since the Bulgarian Brute was released from the contract, there’s no chance that we could see that happening.
This should be the reason why Lana is trying to keep the angle going using her social media handle. Rusev is yet to respond to her tweet, as of this writing.
WWE is currently building to a split between Lana and Bobby Lashley on the flagship brand of the WWE. Perhaps that may help her to come out of the kayfabe world and get back on the same page with Rusev, shortly as he looks forward to his future, moving on from the WWE.

Lana has reportedly signed a multi-year deal with the WWE, last year which is an exclusive deal that allows her to endorse numerous other brands taking time-off from the company.
She could also film movies within an ongoing storyline which most of the WWE roster members can’t have. Thus, Lana continues to enjoy her life to the fullest, as seen on social media. As always, she has continued posting pictures in itsy-bitsy clothes to give major treats to her huge fanbase.
