Manchester United ready to listen to offers for Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Manchester United are looking to sell their most-expensive defensive signings Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer. Maguire cost Manchester United £94 million in 2019 to become the most-expensive centre-back and Wan-Bissaka cost £54 million in 2019 to become the most-expensive right-back in the world. But both English defenders have struggled to live up to their transfer fees and fans’ expectations at Old Trafford.

The 28-year-old English international was given skipper duties by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer just after six months on his arrival. But Maguire struggled with his leadership skills, often getting cards(21 yellow cards and 1 red card in since the last season), and recently lost his dressing room as well.

Maguire was dropped for two consecutive matches last week, which was a clear sign from manager Ralf Rangnick that his place in the team is not irreplaceable anymore. But he was included in the squad for West Ham United clash yesterday to partner Raphael Varane in the absence of Victor Lindelof.

Maguire has been criticized by former Manchester United captains Roy Keane, Eric Cantona, and Gary Neville on many occasions. But now it understands that the club is also losing patience with the former Leicester City star. According to a report from the Fichajes, Manchester United management is looking to offload Maguire who is valued at just £40 million, less than half of what they paid for him two years ago. Maguire has made 18 Premier League appearances this season but hasn’t scored or assisted any goal yet.

Manchester United Are Considering Aaron Wan-Bissaka Sell But Label Diogo Dalot ‘Untouchable’:

The same report also states that Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is also been made available for the transfer this season. The 24-year-old defensive full-back arrived from Crystal Palace in 2019 and was a regular starter under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite his inconsistency while going forward down the right wing.

Ralf Rangnick has drafted the 22-year-old Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot in the right-back position lately and the former Porto star has been sensational down the right-wing. He won the man of the match award against Brentford and was also impressed in yesterday’s West Ham win with a clean sheet. Dalot was linked with a summer transfer move to Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund but he rejected a good offer to fight for his place at Old Trafford.

Wan-Bissaka will find it tough to win his regular spot in Ralf Rangnick’s first-team and will consider an exit if any club shows interest this summer. Both Maguire and Wan-Bissaka will struggle to find new clubs due to their high wages at Manchester United but will be given chances to impress and prove their worth in the next four months.
