Monaco's Thomas Lemar Rejects Contract Extension; Open To A Move To Arsenal 1

French manager Arsene Wenger is lucky to have kept his job at Arsenal after a rather dismal performance from the Gunners which led to them miss out on Champions League football for the first time under their current manager.

Arsenal finished fifth and though ended with the FA Cup trophy, will now have to work really hard to get back into the top-4 as teams around them have already started improving on their first team for the next season.

However, Wenger himself has been busy, trying to find players of the highest order to add to his squad this summer and one player constantly linked with a move to the club is AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar.

The 21-year old French international has risen to the spotlight with some superlative performances for the League 1 outfit, helping them to the a league title and a place in the semi-final of the Champions League.

However, he has already revealed that he is open to quitting Monaco this summer and Arsenal were one of the first clubs to register their interest.

It was also reported that Lemar is open to moving to the Emirates, even with the lack of Champions League football and the rumours have just intensified, as reports reveal that Lemar might be ready to move.

According to reports from France, Lemar has not rejected a new contract at the Stade Louis II and is ready to open talks with potential suitors, Arsenal being one of them.

At just 21, he is a star for the future and the fact that he has three years left on his contract should make him an expensive option.

But according to the same report, Monaco are ready to sell to any club ready to meet his valuation at €30 million (£26m).

The Gunners could lose their talisman, Alexis Sanchez, this summer and are in dire need of a world class addition to their squad.

Lemar may not be in that bracket yet but is right up there with the best and will be a good addition for the squad at the Emirates and at his price, is a player Arsenal cannot afford to miss.
