Newcastle United are closing on signing Sevilla centre-back Diego Carlos for a transfer fee of £30 million. It has been reported that the club is set to announce Carlos signing this week as all the parties have reached an agreement after negotiating for almost two weeks.
The Magpies first target LOSC Lille defender Sven Botmon but French giants refused to entertain their £36 million offer. Sevilla also stood firm on their valuation for the Brazilian defender after rejecting the first offer but Newcastle United’s second offer has been accepted by the La Liga giants. Carlos has an £80 million clause in his contract and due to that Sevilla are not much worried about negotiating for a lower fee.
The 28-year-old Brazil international arrived at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium from Nantes in 2019 and has been a regular starter for manager Julen Lopetegui. He has formed one of the best La Liga centre-backs pairing with Jules Kounde and both defenders are key for Sevilla’s recent resurgence to the top. Sevilla are mounting a title challenge this season are just 5 points behind the leaders Real Madrid with a game in hand.
Diego Carlos has assured manager Julen Lopetegui that he will play tonight’s important fixture against Valencia away. It has been reported that Diego Carlos’ move to St James’ Park has been a trending subject in the dressing room recently and Lopetegui is not happy about it. The Spanish manager wants no distraction before the upcoming Valencia game but Diego Carlos has assured his commitments towards club and is set to play against Valencia.
Eden Hazard Set To Snub Big Offer From Newcastle United:
Real Madrid have accepted Newcastle United’s £50 million offer for Eden Hazard but the Belgian ace is looking to snub a big contract offer from the Magpies. Newcastle United are recruiting big-name players to avoid Premier League relegation this season as they sit in 19th position in the table. Manager Eddie Howe recently signed Mark Wood and Kieran Trippier in this window and now looking for further reinforcements.
Eden Hazard arrived at Real Madrid in 2019 for a transfer fee of £110 million but has scored just 4 league goals in 45 matches. He is struggling consistently with different injuries and now has lost his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s first eleven this season. According to a report from El Nacional, Real Madrid are looking to offload one of the high-earning players but Hazard is reluctant to leave Santiago Bernabeu this month.
