Perhaps for the first-time-ever, the winner didn’t have to climb through the ladder and grab the briefcase to win it. AJ Styles had the Money In The Bank briefcase in his hand as he unhooked it from the holder.

But it fell down to Otis who was sitting at the right beneath him. As per the rules, Otis was the first one to grab the briefcase in his hand and thus he became the rightful owner of a future opportunity for championships.

As for Asuka, she had pushed off King Corbin to retrieve her respective briefcase and end up becoming the Women’s Money in the Bank winner. Thus, Otis and Asuka created history in a chaotic “Corporate Ladder” match which witnessed both the men’s and women’s MITB ladder matches happening, at the same time.

Money In The Bank ladder matches began on the ground floor of WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. Superstars fought through different areas of the building to reach the roof where the two briefcases were hanging above a setup ring.
