A lot of rumors were roaming around the internet trying to find out the future status of Rey Mysterio in the WWE. Previously, words were out stating that he might be trying to leave the company using his out-clause in the contract or when the contract gets over, later this year. But the latest reports surfaced suggesting the Master of 619 is going nowhere from the WWE.
Update On A New Stable Formation On WWE Raw Featuring Bobby Lashley
It was recently noted on Twitter by Dave Meltzer that Rey Mysterio “isn’t going anywhere” for the time being. Furloughed WWE Producer Lance Storm then responded to Meltzer’s tweet in a funny yet significant way saying the following,
“Because he has a long contract or because he died after being thrown off a building last night? [thinking face emoji]”

Storm’s tweet was a reference towards a spot from the 2020 Money In The Bank ladder match where WWE made it seem like King Baron Corbin threw Rey Mysterio and Aleister Black from the roof of WWE Headquarters during the MITB ladder matches.
Rey Mysterio Willing To Put His Mask On The Line In A WWE Match!
Some speculated that it was WWE’s way to write Rey Mysterio off the TV and eventually out of the company as his contract comes to an end but that reportedly isn’t going to happen.
Not sure if this is an issue, but Mysterio isn't going anywhere.

Moreover, the high flying superstar was back on WWE Raw just one night after Money In The Bank during the post-PPV edition of Monday Night Raw. He competed in a tag match teaming with Aleister Black against Murphy and Seth Rollins.
The latter name viciously attacked Mysterio targeting his eyes that needed medical attention, afterward. It hints at a future feud between the two of them.
Also, AEW announcer and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross stated during a recent Patreon edition of his “Grilling JR” podcast that he thinks Rey Mysterio recently signed a new WWE contract.
Ross made those comments when asked by co-host Conrad Thompson why a star like Tajiri didn’t get a bigger push when he was with WWE during his first stint. Ross said except for Rey Mysterio, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon never took cruiserweight stars, seriously.
“He just wasn’t big enough, he was a cruiserweight. Vince never saw big money in cruiserweights,” JR said. He continued, “Rey is a different breed of cat. He’s a different cruiserweight. He had that moveset that was absolutely amazing. He was new, he was fresh, he had a great look. The mask is a big deal for him but Rey Mysterio was a legitimate star long before [WWE]. He just got better and better.
“I think he signed a new contract again with WWE, which is good at this stage of the game. He was a little different breed of cat. You can’t compare Rey Mysterio to all of the other cruiserweights because he was that much better and on a different level in my estimation.” (H/T to WrestlingNews and AdFreeShows)
Moving forward, it will be interesting to see how WWE built a storyline over the eye injury suffered by Rey Mysterio on WWE Raw. A star power like him is much needed on these tough times in WWE programming where ratings are going down, constantly.
