Rio Olympics 2016: Indians in action on day 12 1

Only two Indians were in action on the eleventh day in Rio. While Greco-Roman wrestler Hardeep Singh lost his first round match to exit the Games, shuttler PV Sindhu gave one of the finest performances of her career to stun world number 2 Wang Yihan and qualified for the semifinals. The two-time World Championship bronze medallist defeated her superior Chinese opponent  in straight games, 22-20, 21-19, to become only the second Indian woman after Saina Nehwal to qualify for the Olympics semifinal.

Coming to the twelfth day, Kidambi Srikant would be hoping to replicate Sindhu’s performance when he plunges into action against legendary shuttler, Lin Dan.
