We have previously reported that WWE has several matches lined up for the upcoming edition of WrestleMania which takes place at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on April 5th. Only one of them has been confirmed after Drew McIntyre’s Royal Rumble win as he declared to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship in a fresh matchup.

Shane McMahon Is The Chosen One To Run WWE After Vince McMahon

However, it won’t serve as the main event of WrestleMania 36 as Vince McMahon still wants to keep money on his trusted shoulder who already has main-evented WrestleMania on four separate occasions.

Latest Update On Vince McMahon Willing To Sell WWE

According to Tom Colohue, it looks like The Fiend Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship will be the main event of WrestleMania 36. As noted earlier, this match was solely set up with the goal so that WWE could end the winning streak at the hands of the franchise player of the company.

Next match revealed for Roman Reigns at WWE SSD 2020

But the outcome might not be that much predicted, as per the source. Colohue noted that The Fiend is planned to have a lengthy title reign with the Universal Championship around his shoulder. It’s possible that he eventually defeats Roman Reigns to end WrestleMania 36 which would also make the fans happy,

“They will assume that Roman Reigns wins at WrestleMania. What if he doesn’t? I heard a few months ago that the plan was for Bray Wyatt to have a long title reign, and to potentially hold that Championship after WrestleMania.

I believe the last shot at WrestleMania would be of Bray Wyatt holding the Universal Title, standing over Roman Reigns’ body.

I think that is the main event, that’s how you send the fans home happy, and I think back to SummerSlam 2016 when we had AJ Styles defeating John Cena clean in the middle of the ring and afterward, once all the smoke had cleared, the fans were chanting, ‘Thank you, Cena.’ I think this is that moment for Roman Reigns.”

Big Title Change Expected Before WWE WrestleMania 36?

Speculations were always there that the fans could be turning on Roman Reigns just like they did at WrestleMania 32 or 33 when he defeated names like Triple H or The Undertaker. At this point, WWE does not want to put him in a precarious position, again. So bringing an unpredictable end to WrestleMania main event would be a smart choice.

This was why WWE decided to alter the Royal Rumble winner, as well. Roman Reigns was the originally planned name to get the win but instead, he ended up to be the 29th elimination of the match at the hands of Drew McIntyre who became the winner. Thus the coming heat was withdrawn from Reigns and a similar strategy may be followed even at WrestleMania 36.
