In the latest BWF rankings announced on Thursday, the 21st May India’s ace player Saina Nehwal regains the world number one ranking in the World. Saina who secured the number one position for the first time since early last month when she dropped down to number 2.

The Olympic bronze medalist climbed to number one again today ahead of Australian open starting from 26th May. The Defending Champion in the Australian Open will take on the qualifier in her opener. Meanwhile, PV Sindhu lost a position to drop down to number 12th.

In the men’s singles Srikanth has retained his fourth place. P Kashyap and HS Prannoy have retained their 13th and 15 places. This tournament will be challenge for Saina Nehwal who has been in great form to maintain her form.

Saina Nehwal has been in great form in 2015. She would be hoping to continue her good form in this tournament and win more medals for the country. Sindhu too would be hoping to comeback with some positive result as she is coming back from injury layoff. As far as the men’s section is concerned Srikanth did not participate in the Asian Badminton Championship. Indian shuttler’s needs to perform well .
