WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn hasn’t been seen on WWE programming for several weeks now. He accomplished his first WrestleMania moment by defeating Daniel Bryan while retaining his championship on Night 1 of WrestleMania 36. Since then, we have not seen the Canadian superstar on SmackDown TV which raised concerns among many fans over his status.
One of the reasons why Sami Zayn wasn’t seen on SmackDown is that he had his wisdom teeth pulled out following WrestleMania 36. However, that’s not the main reason why he isn’t working WWE events at WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
WWE Has Backup Plans If Summerslam 2020 Gets Canceled In Boston
It is pretty obvious that the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic is the main problem. Or else, there was no point in keeping him as the Intercontinental champion after the show of shows.
According to the reports of Wrestling Observer, Sami Zayn was a part of a recent week’s SmackDown script. But he decided not to fly down to Orlando, Florida amid the COVID-19 situation.
As a result, his heel team members, Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro were only seen during their attack on Daniel Bryan. There’s no update on when Sami Zayn would decide to show up on TV as it looks like the decision lies in his hands.
Update On Infamous Randy Savage-Stephanie McMahon Linkup Story In WWE
It was earlier reported that WWE isn’t forcing any superstar to work shows during the coronavirus pandemic. Still, a complaint was lodged at the Orange County in Florida that the company is forcing talents to work, tirelessly.
It was from an unknown employee of the WWE who urged the Florida government to stop the TV tapings, as soon as possible. However, he wasn’t successful in doing so.

Sami Zayn seems to have taken the similar way to that of Roman Reigns who didn’t work WrestleMania 36 taping. Due to the earlier battle with leukemia, Reigns’ body is immunocompromised and he didn’t want any risks.
We hope Zayn isn’t dealing with a bigger problem like this. But he might not be on TV for a while unless WWE finds a perfect storyline angle to insert him into it.
