“The Visionary” Seth Rollins recently became the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion of WWE when he defeated former two times WWE World Champion AJ Styles at the Night of Champions PLE that took place at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia last month.
WWE finally introduced a secondary World Championship which would be up for grab for the rest of the roster. For more than one year, Roman Reigns was given both World Championships of the promotion and he was not defending the titles regularly either.
Seth Rollins’ Proclamation: A New Era For The World Heavyweight Championship
It really affected the rest of the roster and WWE could not push enough wrestlers either. Finally, WWE came up with a new World title that would help building more stars. It was crowned on May 27th and it has already been defended once. It is also rumoured to be on the line at Money in the Bank.
Seth Rollins promised the WWE Universe that he would be a fighting champion unlike Roman Reigns and he would defend his title regularly and everywhere he goes. He had been built quite strongly before winning the title and he received some massive victories over some of the biggest name of the promotion.
Seth Rollins Wants To Be A Fighting Champion
“We’re selling out left and right, we’re hot, from here to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Paris, France, Mexico City, it doesn’t matter. We need to have a World Heavyweight Champion on the men’s side to represent that level of competition,” said the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins while speaking with Mark Andrews on My Love Letter To Wrestling.
But there are frustrations among the WWE fans as they are afraid that it is not being treated equally to the Universal title that is being held by Roman Reigns for three long years. The title is not even booked as strong as Roman Reigns. At Night of Champions, Roman did not even defend his title, still, he featured on the main event and the World Heavyweight title was the show opener.
But there is enough time to bring the glory back to this big title and we seriously hope they treat it equal to the Universal title soon. We hope the wrestler holding this title getting same recognition as Roman Reigns who might keep the Universal title forever.
