La Liga giants Sevilla confirmed the signing of Manchester United forward Anthony Martial on a six-month loan. But surprisingly, there is no buy-clause involved in this deal, so the French forward will be returning to Old Trafford this summer. This will be a perfect choice for Martial to show his worth with one of the best clubs in Europe, who are challenging the La Liga title this season.
The 26-year-old forward arrived at Old Trafford for a transfer fee of £57 million from Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco, then the highest transfer fee was paid for teenagers. Martial was an instant hit at Old Trafford where he scored 11 and assisted 7 goals in 31 appearances but then he struggled with injuries and fitness issues. He scored 17 league goals in 32 matches during the 2019-20 season but was overlooked by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the last two years where he scored just 5 goals in 30 league matches.

Manchester United signed Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho last summer which further restricted his first-team chances this season. Martial has made just 8 league appearances and has scored just 1 goal this season. This month he was determined for Manchester United exit after failing to impress new manager Ralf Rangnick. Many clubs approached Red Devils to enquire about the player’s availability this month but United rejected all offers initially, including Sevilla’s loan offer.
Sevilla are placed second in the La Liga table this season, just 4 points behind leaders Real Madrid. They dropped points in their last two league matches and failed a chance to overtake Los Blancos. Sevilla are having the best defensive record in La Liga with just 16 goals conceded in 22 matches, but they have scored just 34 goals, the lowest among top-four teams. Star forward Youssef En-Nesyri is struggling with injuries and rotational striker Rafa Mir has scored just 6 times in 20 matches. Anthony Martial will definitely get regular game time under manager Julen Lopetegui at Sevilla and will boost their chances to win the La Liga title for the first time in 77 years.
Anthony Martial will be in Sevilla in the coming hours. Monchi was working on this deal since two months – deal sealed with Manchester United, straight loan and no buy option. Confirmed. ?? #Sevilla

More Exits At Manchester United This Month?
Manchester United are in the market for a new holding midfielder, centre-back, and striker, and linked with multiple targets this month. But it looks unlikely that they will pull any deal in the next six days but fans can expect more exits after Martial’s departure on loan. The likes of Donny Van de Beek, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Nemanja Mata, Phile Jones, and Eric Bailly are struggling to get regular minutes at Old Trafford but none of them is expected to leave on a permanent basis this month.

Manchester United have received offers for both Lingard and De Beek but Red Devils are worried about their rotational options if they depart this month. Lingard has just six months available on his contract and is looking to leave the club on a free transfer this June. Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United are very much interested in signing an English winger this month but Red Devils are yet to decide on their stance. Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek is also pushing hard for Old Trafford’s exit this month and Barcelona are one of the clubs interesting in a January loan deal for the player.
