As seen in this past week’s episode of SmackDown, WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg laid out “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt with a Spear. These two are all set to lock horns at the WWE Super Showdown PPV event in the potential main event of the night.
The rumors are pretty high that the former WCW franchise player is booked to digest a big loss at the hands of the new resident demon of the blue brand. But then again, you just can’t really predict anything considering this is the Wrestlemania season.
Revealed: Will Goldberg Wrestle In A Match At WWE Wrestlemania 36?
WWE Raw Full Results: February 24, 2020
The big question regarding WWE Super Showdown is that Will Goldberg be able to layout The Fiend Bray Wyatt to win his second Universal Championship? The answer still stands a big NO, though. According to the reports of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Goldberg isn’t scheduled to perform at WrestleMania 36. It means that he won’t win the Universal Championship at WWE Super ShowDown 2020.

So he would end up suffering a loss at the hands of The Fiend Bray Wyatt. The current Universal Champion would then become the only third superstar (after Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker) to hand a clean pinfall loss. It would also give heavy momentums to The Fiend’s career as he goes ahead to feature in one of the marquee matches at Wrestlemania 36. However, these plans are still not said to be concrete, at this point.
There’re some speculations going on suggesting that Vince McMahon might change his mind at the last minute. This could still set up a potential dream match between Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36.

In order to ensure the same, McMahon could book Goldberg to beat The Fiend. It would be a similar case like 2017 Fastlane where he defeated Kevin Owens to win the same title and then head on to Wrestlemania.
The logic behind this move is simple as Roman Reigns vs. Goldberg will be the bigger draw at the biggest event of the year. In this case, WWE has to cancel their long-written plan of Reigns beating The Fiend at WrestleMania 36 and thereby end his undefeated streak. The uncertainty around Super Showdown main event makes the Universal title match, a must-see.
