South Africa crush Australia in Cape Town Test by 322 runs –

In the controversy-hit Test match, South Africa focused on cricket to take the lead of 2-1 against Australia in the ongoing four-match Test series.

After Cameron Bancroft was caught for suspectingly rubbing the ball with his trousers, ICC in its verdict hands over a one-match ban to Steven Smith and hundred percent match fee.

However, Bancroft was charged of 75 percent match fee and thee demerit points were handed over to him.

Talking about the reputation which has been at stake after Bancroft was caught using yellow tape — to scuff the ball.

But Lanky fast-bowler Morne Morkel stood tall with his bowling prowess. He broke the back of Australian batting line-up after the visitors hit the nadir.

Morkel claimed the sensational match figures of five for 23 in 9.4 overs to halt Australia’s second innings at 107 in 39.4 overs.

Opening batsman David Warner was the top-scorer with 67-ball 32 after registering the first-wicket stand of 57 runs.

However, the top-order collapsed as Australia lost three wickets at the score of 59. Moreover, the side was led by Tim Paine after Smith stood down.

In addition, Australia lost two wickets at the score of 86 which further was repeated on the total of 94.

New Zeland ease past England in pink-ball Test –

In the rain-hit Test match, the hosts’ New Zealand bowlers were strong enough to eke out the England wickets. This happened on the final day of the first Test at Eden Park on March 26.

Simultaneously, England folded out for 320 in 126.1 overs in the second innings despite some resistance from Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes late down the order. Both went on to smash respective fifties.

However, skipper Joe Root and opening batsman Mark Stoneman also struck respective half-centuries.

Man of the Match Trent Boult claimed nine wickets in the match.

In second innings, Neil Wagner, Todd Astle also claimed three wickets each, as Tim Southee settled with the one.

Ajinkya Rahane to lead Rajasthan Royals as Steven Smith steps down –

In addition, Steven Smith has stood down from the post of his captaincy for IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals. This came following the ball-tampering saga in Cape Town Test.

However, Ajinkya Rahane will be leading the Jaipur-based outfit in the eleventh edition of IPL.
