India to face Bangladesh in the Nidahas Trophy final later today:
India and Bangladesh will face each other in the Nidahas Trophy final later today in Colombo.
The men in blues won three consecutive matches to reach the final while Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka in a thriller to book a place.
Meanwhile, India has defeated Bangladesh two times earlier in this series and looks to be the clear favorites.
Bangladesh Cricket Board accepts team’s behaviour against Sri Lanka:
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expressed their regret over the team’s behaviour in the last match against Sri Lanka.
In the Last match, the cricketers got involved in an ugly spat after Mustafizur Rehman got out. ICC reprimanded Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan and Nurul Hasan.
“The Board accepts that conduct of the Bangladesh Team in certain instances was unacceptable on a cricket field,” BCB said in a statement.
PV Sindhu Loses in the Semifinal:
India’s star shuttler P.V. Sindhu lost to Japanese second seed Akane Yamaguchi in the semi-finals of the All England Open BWF World Tour Super 1000 here on Saturday.
The Rio Olympic Games silver medallist lost 21-19, 19-21, 18-21 in an hour and 19 minutes to Yamaguchi.
Meanwhile, Yamaguchi will face top seed and defending champion Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei in the women’s singles final.
Chennaiyin FC crowned ISL champions for the 2nd time:
Chennaiyin FC claimed their second Indian Super League (ISL) title with a convincing 3-2 win over favourites Bengaluru FC in the final.
Mailson Alves (17th, 45th minutes) headed in off corners to give Chennaiyin the lead after Sunil Chhetri (6th minute) had put the hosts in the lead.
Raphael Augusto drilled in the third goal in the second period. Nicolas Fedor got Bengaluru’s second goal in the second half but it was too late for the debutants.
