Going by the latest reports, WWE Hall of Famer Sting is no more associated with WWE as his deal has expired in recent times. There was a lot of speculating on WWE status of Sting, earlier this week after he was pulled from a new Mattel series of WWE action figures.
Previously WWE confirmed him for the series before he was withdrawn from it in a short notice which indicated that he may not be a WWE superstar, anymore.

Mattel said that Sting was pulled from the series “due to circumstances out of their control” but they mentioned anything, elaborately. Now Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed that The Stinger is no longer signed to a WWE contract.
It was noted that although WWE does not possess the superstar anymore, it does not mean that the two sides won’t be seen on the same page on a possible merchandise deal, moving forward.
Mattel’s WWE Legends Series 7 set of action figures was released for pre-sale orders. It had Sting along with three other Hall of Famers – Scott Hall aka Razor Ramon, Greg Valentine, and Bobby Heenan.
But the updated series that was released didn’t have Sting included in it. It came after he was previously photographed in the set. A tweet regarding the same was also made by Ringside Collectibles.

AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes responded to the podcast tweet where Sting was pulled from the series. He included a GIF of himself which has become a famous meme to signal some potential AEW signings.
He captioned the GIF with the “face without mouth” emoji. He also fuelled up the speculations of Sting potentially signing with AEW by commenting on a twitter exchange between Sting and AEW star Lance Archer.

Cody responded to Sting’s tweet about Archer getting a much-deserved shot in AEW as he dropped the “eyes” emoji. It was enough to fuel the rumors among fans that the former WCW franchise player may be eyeing a spot on the AEW roster. However, there’s no concrete news on this potential signing between the two parties.
Sting is said to be eagerly waiting for one last match in the WWE which should happen against none other than The Undertaker.
