The Undertaker has always been a confirmed name when it comes to the Saudi Arabia events since the beginning of 2018. The fanbase of the middle-east country demanded so as they are fond of the old-school veterans. But it looks like for the first time, The Deadman will not rise for the next edition of the Saudi global show named Crown Jewel. Recent reports are now available informing that the greatest sports entertainer is perhaps out of the next PPV match card.
The Fiend attacks after SmackDown
Back in September, the first promotional material for WWE Crown Jewel was out that included The Undertaker in a vignette. It also advertised some of the legends like Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair. Whereas the latter duo will be heading into the Saudi Arabia show, the Wrestling Observer Noted that The Phenome will not be performing in the October event. He will be absent despite the early advertisements for the PPV.
Here’s some additional note which also hinted that Goldberg is also out from Crown Jewel PPV, (via wrestlingINC.com)
“There’s no word yet on why Taker isn’t working Crown Jewel, but it was speculated that it would make little sense to bring in other outside attractions, who aren’t active Superstars, when they already have boxer Tyson Fury and new WWE Superstar Cain Velasquez on the card. On a related note, The Observer reports that there are also no current plans for WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg to work Crown Jewel.”
The Undertaker performed in the first WWE event named Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia back on April 28. He defeated Rusev in a Casket Match to return to the Kingdom in November 2018 to team up with Kane for a loss to WWE Hall of Famers Triple H and Shawn Michaels. He then pinned Goldberg at WWE Super ShowDown earlier this year. WWE Super ShowDown was the first Saudi Arabia show for Goldberg.
The third name from WWE roster who won’t be working at WWE Crown Jewel is Sami Zayn. He is not allowed to compete in WWE shows in the Kingdom because of Syrian descent. This is the same reason why WWE barred him from working in the previous shows hosted in Saudi Arabia, too. As of now, Sami is working as the mouthpiece for WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. The latter name will work in Crown Jewel as a member of Team Flair for the ten-man tag team match representing Team Flair.
