  1. South Africa vs Australia (2006)

It was one of greatest matches in One-day International cricket. This match was played at Johannesburg on 12th March 2006. The series was levelled at 2-2. Australia won the toss and choose to bat. Simon Katich and Adam Gilchrist put on a 97-run for the first wicket partnership. After that, Ricky Pointing plundered the South African bowling and scored 164 runs. With help of this innings, Australia scored a massive 434 for 4. Chasing the target, South African batsmen Smith scored 90, while Gibbs scored a brilliant 175 runs while Boucher scored 50 and won a historic match by 1 one wicket. By the virtue of this South Africa won the series 3-2.

  1. Tied 1999 World Cup semi-final

South Africa and Australia clashed in another mouthwatering ODI match. This match was played at Birmingham on 17th June. It was a semi-final clash. South Africa won the toss and choose to field. Australia was struggling at 68 for 4 but contributions from Waugh and Bevan helped them to post a competitive total of 213. The pick of bowlers for South Africa was Pollock picking 5 for 36. Chasing a target of 214, South Africa too was struggling at 61 for 4. Cullinan and Rhodes put South Africa on track. South Africa and Australia played another exciting match in 2014. This match was played at Harare Sports Club on 27th August 2014 . It was a high scoring match that day. South Africa won the toss and choose to field.  With contributions from Finch, Hughes, Bailey, Smith, the Australian team posted a competitive total of 327 for 7. Chasing this target, South Africa lost 2 early wickets, Du Plessis and De Villiers scored brilliant centuries to help South Africa chase down this target with 20 balls to spare and 7 wickets.

This was another classic ODI match between Australia and South Africa. This match was played at Docklands Stadium in Melbourne. This was the first time that match was played under a roof. Chasing this target, Australia after getting a good start, lost wickets at regular intervals and tied the match. The score remained at 226 for 9 in 50 overs.

It was another classic ODI match between these two superpowers. This match was played in Sydney on 23th November 2014. South Africa won the toss and choose to bat. De Kock scored a century while Rossouw and Behardien scored half centuries to post a competitive total of 280. Chasing this target, Australia top order consisting of Finch, Watson, Smith scored half centuries. Despite late fall of wickets, Australia won this match by 2 wickets.
