Pete Dunne-longest-reigning champion in the modern era
Brock Lesnar used to be the longest-reigning champion in WWE’s modern era with his Universal Championship reign from 2018.

But Pete Dunne shattered the record in 2019 as he held the NXT United Kingdom Championship for 528 days. Although not in the mainstay scene, WWE acknowledged this accolade.

He defeated John Cena to win WWE and US title in a Winner-Takes-All match at Summerslam 2015.

Brock Lesnar-WWE Championship win twice on SmackDown; wins Universal title record third time
Brock Lesnar defeated Kofi Kingston to win the WWE Championship in just eight seconds creating an all-time record at the inaugural episode of SmackDown on FOX.

This makes him the only superstar who won the most coveted title in sports entertainment on a SmackDown episode. Lesnar also cashed in Money in the Bank briefcase at Extreme Rules to become the first WWE Superstar to become a record three-time Universal Champion.
