Newcastle United are set to land three major signings on transfer deadline day, in a huge boost for their Premier League survival. Brighton have accepted their £13 million offer for star defender Dan Burn and the player has also agreed on personal terms with the Magpies. Aston Villa full-back Matthew Targett is also closing on the Newcastle move and is scheduled for afternoon medical.
But the biggest deal for the Magpies will be Reims striker Hugo Ekitike if they pulled off this deal in time. Fabrizio Romano has stated that Newcastle have a big offer on the table and the plane is ready to fly out the French star if Reims agreed. West Ham United are also in touch for the 19-year-old wonderkid but now Newcastle United are ahead of the Hammers despite their latest interest.
Dan Burn arrived at Brighton two seasons ago and has been a regular starter at Amex Stadium. He is one of the tallest English defenders in the league and will form a formidable partnership with captain Jamaal Lascelles at St James’ Park. Newcastle United World has reported that Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard has talked with Burn over his potential move to Tyneside.
Matthew Targett Set For Newcastle Medical But ‘Time’ Will Play A Big Part In Ekitike Deal:
Manager Eddie Howe will certainly try to use Burn to lure Jesse Lingard at Newcastle but Manchester United are still firm on their huge £12 million loan fee. Howe is also working on securing Matthew Targett from Aston Villa as the full-back is keen on the Villa Park exit after the arrival of Lucas Digne. Newcastle have Paul Dummett and Jamal Lewis playing in the left-back position but signing another player in the same position doesn’t make sense.
Jesse Lingard wants to leave Man United, he told Ralf Rangnick again today during face to face meeting. West Ham and Newcastle still keen on signing him. Up to Man United now. ? #DeadlineDay

Targett will be an upgrade over Dummett and Lewis but not a big one considering his recent form, which led Villans to sign Digne this month. But he will definitely boost their chances to survive the relegation battle at the end of this season. There are no reports of transfer fee numbers but it is rumoured in the region of £15 million and a 4-year deal.
Hugo Ekitike is in France and waiting on the club’s answer for Newcastle United’s £33 million offer. The Magpies have an 11 pm deadline to complete medical and paperwork so they will surely push this deal with everything they have got. Even if they fail to land the youngster they will see this window as a successful one which definitely help them survive Premier League relegation.
