Continuing her brilliant form, Indian shuttler PV Sindhu stunned All England Open champion Nozomi Okuhara in the semifinal to storm into the finals of women’s singles. The 21-year old created history by becoming the first Indian woman to qualify for the badminton finals in Olympics. The girl from Hyderabad started the match in brilliant fashion by winning the first set by 21-19. The second set was a much closer one with either of the shuttlers failing to take a clear lead with Sindhu leading 11-10 at the halfway mark. But the Indian took 11 straight points to bag the match.

The best part of #PVSindhu today was her aggression at 10-10 in second set. Went for kill instead of defending. Future world number 1 here.
