Chelsea take on Udinese in their final preseason friendly before they kick-off the new Premier League season in a week’s time against Everton.
The preseason so far for Chelsea could be termed as disappointing after picking up just one win in three games. Add to it, the Blues have also suffered major set-backs in their transfer business.
Chelsea started on winning note against Club America, but back-to-back losses, against MLS side Charlotte FC and fellow London rivals Arsenal left Thomas Tuchel enraged over his players.
He would now want them to respond strongly against a tough side Udinese. The Italians though finished 12th last season in Serie A have conducted heavy business in the transfer market.
Andrea Sottil’s side have brought in over half-a-dozen players in Beto, Destiny Udogie, Jaka Bijol, Leonardo Buta, Festy Ebosele, Sandi Lovric and Adam Masina.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have been successful in landing Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly, whereas missing out on Raphinha, Jules Kounde and Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona.
