The stage is set for the grand finale of Women’s singles at the Wimbledon. Garbine Muguruza was the first player to book her place in the Wimbledon finals fighting past the no 13 seed Agnieszka Radwanska and defeated her 6-2,3-6,6-3. Secondly, it was the no 1 seed Serena Williams who booked her place in the finals by demolishing Maria Sharapova in straight sets 6-2,6-4.

Garbine Muguruza:

The Final is nicely placed with the Spaniard Muguruza taking on the American Serena Williams. Muguruza game is highly dependent on her serves and powerful ground strokes.Muguruza managed to make 41 of the 52 first serves in and hit 39 winners during her semi-final clash against Radwanska. Muguruza, has to maintain that level of consistency against the world no 1 to have any chances of beating the American. The last time around when they both met in the French Open she managed to beat Serena and she would have fond memories of that and would love to replicate the heroics once again.

Road to Finals:

Round 1: Beat Varvara Lepchenko 6-4 6-1

Round 2: Beat Mirjana Lucic-Baroni 6-3 4-6 6-2

Round 3: Beat Angelique Kerber 7-6 1-6 6-2

Round 4: Beat Caroline Wozniacki 6-4 6-4

Serena Williams:

Serena Williams quest for calendar slam is on big time as she managed to beat Maria Sharapova in straight sets in her semi-final clash and advanced to another Wimbledon final. Serena who is chasing her 6th Wimbledon title has lost just one match in the entire 2015 season and looks red hot to win her 21st grand slam title. Serena’s fired 13 aces and hit 29 winners in her semi-final clash against Maria Sharapova. Serena’s serving is one of the biggest strength in her game as many find difficult to break her. Serena’s road to finals has been smooth thus far except the only game against Heather Watson where she managed to come back from the jaws of defeat in the final set.

Road to finals:

Round 1: Beat Margarita Gasparyan 6-4 6-1

Round 2: Beat Timea Babos 6-4 6-1

Round 3: Beat Heather Watson 6-4 4-6 7-5

Round 4: Beat Venus Williams 6-4 6-3

Quarter-Finals: Beat Victoria Azarenka 3-6 6-2 6-3

Semi-Finals: Beat Maria Sharapova 6-2 6-4

Prediction: Serena Williams, with the form she has been in the 2015 season has to be the favourite heading into the finals. However, for Muguruza she would love to repeat the same magic of French Open last year.
