Roger Federer and Andy Murray eases through to the fourth round of the US Open with straight sets victory over their opponents.
Day 6 of the US Open featured Roger Federer taking on the German Phillip Kohlschreiber in the morning session. Although the Swiss wasn’t playing his best Tennis he comfortably registered a straight sets victory over Kohlschreiber defeating him 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.
Federer hit 5 aces which were way lower than the opening rounds he played and maintained just 60% of the first serve. Also, he made 26 unforced errors which were more than Kohlschreiber. However, the Swiss managed to convert 5 of his 8 breakpoints whereas the German converted just 2 of the 4 break points he faced.
Roger Federer will be facing the big-serving American John Isner in the fourth round on Monday.

Andy Murray will face the South African Kevin Anderson in the fourth round on Monday after his straight sets victory over Thomaz Bellucci. He defeated the Brazilian 6-3, 6-2, 7-5.
Murray’s serving was not absolutely on the top of his game, hitting just 6 aces and maintaining a first serve percentage of 64. Murray came to the more often than not and won 21 of his 29 points. While the Brit managed to break the Brazilian’s serve 5 out of 13 attempts, Bellucci just managed to convert 1 of his 2 breakpoints.
