Indian batting star Virat Kohli has been rewarded for his recent good form in World T20 as he grabbed numero uno position in ICC T20 batting ranking. Kohli in the last match against Australia did a Houdini act as he played match winning innings of 82 runs while chasing 161. Kohli’s innings helped India to march into the semifinal.
Virat Kohli since the tour of Australia has been in outstanding form as he scored a six-half century in 11 matches and has played a pivotal role in nine matches where India won.
However, in the top 10, there is no other Indian batsman. Suresh Raina, the second Indian batsmen, stands at 22th and Yuvraj Singh at 26th. Australian Aaron Finch stands second in the chart while Hamilton Hasakadza and Mohammad Shahzad of Afghanistan have grabbed the 8th and 9th position respectively. The second Australian who is in top 10 is Shane Watson, who international career ended with Australia’s departure from the WT20 losing the match to India.
Martin Guptill of New Zealand have got the third position for his outstanding performance in the summer of Southern Hemisphere and now in India in World T20. Kane Williamson is the second New Zealand who featured in this list.
Faf du Plessis, Alex Hales and Chris Gayle are respectively standing at 4th, 5th and 6th position. Only two teams have more than one player in top 10 are Australia and New Zealand.
