New Zealand vs India 2020: Virat Kohli Becomes Highest T20I Scorer As Indian Captain; Surpasses MS Dhoni

In Hamilton, during the third T20I match against New Zealand, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli created a new record in T20I as a captain. He has become the highest scorer in T20Is as an Indian captain. Thus, he surpassed the record of former Indian captain MS Dhoni.

At Seddon Park, the aggressive player Kohli scored 38 runs in 27 balls at the strike rate of 140.74. He hit one maximum and two fours in his innings. With this, he has become the third-highest scorer in T20I as a captain overtaking his predecessor Dhoni on the impressive list.

While the ex-T20I South African captain Faf du Plessis tops the chart with 1,273 runs. The New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson is at No. 2 with 1148 runs.

Now,  Kohli is at the third position in the list with 1116 runs. While ex-captain Dhoni, who is currently on sabbatical, is at No. 4 with 1114 runs in T20I.

New Zealand vs India 2020: 3rd T20I Hamilton: India sets the target of 180 runs

At Seddon Park, India had a decent target of 180 runs against the hosts. India’s limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma played breezy innings. He scored 65 runs before getting out on the ball of Hamish Bennett. He struck six fours and three maximums.

Rohit’s opening partner KL Rahul, who played crucial innings in Auckland, lost his wickets early in the third game. Rahul scored 27 runs off 19 balls.

The Indian captain was the second-highest scorer for India. Shreyas Iyer (17), Manish Pandey(14*) and Ravindra Jadeja (10*) contribution led the team to set the target of 180 runs in the third T20I.
